This looks like a thick, sticky, black slime coating which hangs from the Babau's leathery skin and flings off in combat. Touching the Babau while this coating is present causes the attacker to take additional acidic damage. Unarmed creatures (including monsters using weaponry) are particularly effected by this, but too so are wielders of metallic weapons as the metal often corrodes and sends molten material and globs of acid back upon the attacker. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
