Pixie Pollen
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pixies coat their wings with pollen in order to deepen their connection
to the Mother. By doing so, the pollen serves as a conduit by which
the power of Life and Nature flows into the Pixie and out into the
world through the casting of spells.

***********************************************************************
* To view the pollens that the Pixie has accumulated, use the *
* "pollen" command.                                                   *
***********************************************************************

Each pollen type allows the Pixie to use a particular spell in its
retinue. These spells draw half of their strength from the Pixie's
innate bond with the Mother (quintessence) and the other half from the
potency of the pollens themselves (the quantity of the pollen currently
accumulated by the Pixie). Each pollen also grants a certain bonus to
two of the Pixie's passive skills. In the diagram below, active spells
granted are listed below the pollen name, while passive bonuses are
indicated above it. Pixies must choose which pollen(s) with which to
affinitize themselves (see "help skill pollen"), as not all pollens can
be empowering the Pixie at the same time.

***********************************************************************
* While a particular pollen is required to cast each Pixie spell, *
* please note that the pollen is NOT consumed by using the spell. *
* In other words, the pollen "unlocks" the spell but is not spent to *
* cast the spell (i.e. casting the spell will not reduce the quantity *
* of the associated pollen that the Pixie has gathered). Instead, *
* the current quantity of pollen associated with the spell is used in *
* determining the effective level of the spell whenever that spell is *
* cast.                                                               *

There are ten types of pollen from ten flower genera found throughout
Tsunami. The flowers are known to grow in the following terrains. Any
room that has at least one of these terrains has a chance to contain
pollen for any flower type: cemetery, cultivated, farm, field, forest,
garden, hills, jungle, mountains, plains, shore and swamp.

The pollens from the flowers grant the following spells and passive
skill bonuses:

KEY (for passive bonuses)
W = Weapon Damage
C = Combat
A = Attacking / Offhand
T = Toughness
R = Resistance
N = Awareness
S = Stealth

              (W, A)          (W, R)            (W, R)
              CLOVER  -------  LILY  -------   HEATHER
            (plerosis)      (acerbate)       (somnolence)

              (W, A)                            (W, S)
              TULIP                            BLUEBELL
           (galvanize)                        (acclimate)

              (W, N)                            (C, S)
            MOONFLOWER                        SNAPDRAGON
              (glow)                          (hoodwink)

              (T, N)          (W, T)            (W, C)
               ROSE  -------   LOTUS  -------  DAFFODIL
            (brambles)        (bliss)        (gullibility)

The maximum number of pollens that may be affinitized simultaneously is
equal to the Pixie's character level, divided by seven, plus one:

  1-6: 1 pollen
7-13: 2 pollens
14-20: 3 pollens
21-27: 4 pollens
28-34: 5 pollens
   ...etc

When juxtaposed pollens are affinitized (based on the diagram above),
they will grant special additional effects to each others' granted
spells. These synergistic contingencies derive their efficacy from
both the strength of the particular casting of the spell (half
quintessence and half spell's primary pollen quantity) and the quantity
accumulated of the secondary pollen. For instance, if using the "glow"
spell powered by Moonflower, if the Pixie also has Tulip affinitized,
the spell would additionally curse its target with reduced weapon skill
based on the effective level of the particular casting of the "glow"
spell plus the amount of Tulip pollen the Pixie is carrying. See each
Pixie spell ("help spell <x>") for more details.
