Feature : Necrotic Aura

The Scourgelord's necrotic aura is comprised of its top one hundred
most powerful souls. As Scourgelords ravage the land they are
constantly exhausting old, weaker, souls in favor of more powerful
kills. This feature is used in conjunction with the 'horde' spell and
is supposed to simulate the Scourgelord's ability to draw/raise undead
to assist him in death's errand.

How it works: The power of a Scourgelord's necrotic aura is dependent
upon two factors:
 (1) it's top 100 kills
 (2) the level of those kills.
These two numbers are multiplied together in order to get a 'Power
Rating'. This power level determines the power of its horde (see help
spell horde) and is described in the following manner:

Almost Nonexistent
Infinitesimal
Pitiful [Horde gains defense ability]
Feeble
Very Weak [Horde gains mob ability]
Weak
Respectable [Horde gains ravenous ability]
Average
Robust [Horde gains shadow procs]
Powerful
Overwhelming [Horde gains banshee procs]
Realm Wide
Gateway to the Necrotic Plane
Unliving God

Note 1: The horde currently has a soft-cap of level 23 (19+4) but will
continue to grow minimally even beyond that based upon
continued higher level kills. As a Hero Scourgelord we would
not anticipate that any player would be able to achieve
a necrotic aura greater than 'Realm Wide'. The other two aura
levels are currently reserved for additional class phases.

Note 2: If you focus on big kills its possible to have an aura more
powerful than your class level might imply and a stronger
        horde.

Note 3: It's easy to do newbie quests to level 5/6 and catch your
necrotic aura up by level 8 by killing equal level mobs in
        zones.

Note 4: It's harder to keep your aura/horde at your level if you are
experiencing via Brett/Jim-Bob. A Brett or two every level
won't have a huge impact, but grinding Bretts will leave you
weaker than you ought to be (such is the price for denying
death its due by engaging in selective rather than wholesale
slaughter). It is recommended you do Jim-Bobs about 4-5 levels
later so-as to not reap full impact of an at-level reward.

Note 5: Honestly though, even if you engaged in Brett for many levels
it's not overly time consuming to get caught back up. You just
have to be okay with a weaker horde for a time.
