Welcome to Tsunami. The following is a list of the rules and regulations of
this mud. The rules specified below are subject ONLY to the interpretation
of Tsunami management, and MUST be obeyed by all players if they wish to
play this mud.
If you find that you cannot agree with the rules of this mud, then it
is strongly suggested that you mail mud@castor.oakland.edu immediately, and
request that your character be removed. Simply put, it will save us the
trouble of doing it after you break the rule.

Cheating.
Cheating in muds can take on many forms. This includes:
- Failure to report, and abuse of, bugs in the game.
- Disobeying ANY of the rules posted here or in other rules documents.
- Failure to report cheating by other players (or wizards)
- Being 'aided' by a wizard. Said 'Aid' can take on many forms, such as
being given exp that you didn't earn, free money, weapons, armour,
  or other 'gifts'.
- Giving out quest information. (period. No discussion.)
- Having multiple characters logged in at once (linkdeath counts)

Communications.
There are several means on Tsunami of communicating with other
players. However, these can easily be abused. Some forms of abuse
that are unacceptable on Tsunami:
- *excessive* use of profanity on public communication channels.
A public communication channel is class or shout.
We Can understand shouting an occaisional profanity here
and there, or even the occaisional 'FUCK' when you die.
   shouting "You penis-sucking come-eater! I'll rip your
cock off and shove it up your ass" is just a -tad- out
of line, and will be dealt with severly.

*** Use of the emergency channel, is *FORBIDDEN*
Circumstances that might permit use of emergency:
    - You are unable to use any other communication channel, and
are in dire need of a wizard.
    - Emergencies.
Note: Inappropriate use of the emergency channel will result in
dire consequences for your player. Use at your own discretion,
      and at own risk.

Harassment.
Don't harass other players. Specifically, we are talking about
sexual harassment or other similar cases. We are not talking
about stealing, player-killing, or other cases.
Note: Whether or not harassment is being committed is generally up
to the ranking wizard on. If you are asked to stop such an
action by a wizard, you are strongly suggested to do so.

Questing.
Giving out quest information is highly illegal. However, if
you wish to start on a quest with another player, and work through
that quest, that's okay. But outright telling players how to do
quests here (This includes offline) is not only dishonest, but
requires us to either change current quests, or add Marriard's quest
back in to make achieving wizhood more difficult.

Multiple Characters.
As long as there is disk space is available, players are invited to play
multiple characters. However, there are a few ground rules that should be
specified here.
- Do not have more than on player at a time logged in. (this includes linkdeads)
- If you wish to make multiple characters, simply mail
  mud@castor.acs.oakland.edu, do NOT use mud-mail.
- You need not tell wizards the names of your other characters. However,
you MUST tell any level 1000+ if you are asked.

Wars.
Wars are fun, and are a good way of testing the skill of the
player versus other players. However, using clients to augment your
abilities during a war makes it much less fun for others, and should
never be done. (we are talking triggers and tracking programs, kids)
If you are caught using a client to enhance your war skills, you will
be removed from the current war, and banished from all subsequent wars.
Using triggers in the course of the mud are tentatively allowed, with
the following restrictions:
- Do not use a robot to play for you.
- Using triggers or tracking programs for the purpose of playerkilling
  is forbidden.

Playerkilling.
Playerkilling is legal. However, restrictions have been added into
the game via code and via rules ('help pk') that are
designed to make the game more fair and enjoyable for the majority of
our players. Using features of the game to circumvent code that
prevents your attacking a player to kill that player is forbidden.
(Yes, we are talking about summoning a level 3 to a shadow, and other
'features')

Wizards.
When a player has achieved all the requiste experience and quests
for becoming a wizard, they may go to the explorers guild and 'advance',
informing Tsunami Management that they wish to help create new and
exciting areas for the mud. Once a player has made wizard, they
are no longer allowed to affect the nature course of events in
the game. Do NOT ask immortals for information about the game.
If you find bugs/problems within the game itself, contact any
level 50 wizard or higher currently logged into the game, and
show it to them. If no wizard above level 50 is on, mail Wildcat,
or any of the other elders/arches (Dealer is a good one).
Crashes and Reboots are inevitable and 'natural'. No reimbursements
will be given. Bugs will be reimbursed, but only by a level 1000+.
Wizards over Level 500 (Senior, Elder, Arch, God) are responsible for
the day-to-day managment of Tsunami, and for keeping Tsunami running
smoothly. If you are asked to do something by one of them, you should
always listen.
Wizards over Level 5000 in effect administrate the game. Their
word here is law. Failure to comply with any requests by same may
result in consquences to your character.

Possible Punishements.
In interest of fairness, punishments for breaking any of the above
rules will be set to try to fit the crime.
Punishments available:
- Zapping
- Exp penalties.
- Temporary Banishment
- Not-so-temporary banishment
- Permanent removal of your character.

These rules are not here for high-level wizards to have power trips.
We have come up with these rules in order that the majority of Tsunami
players can come here to play in an environment that is enjoyable to
them, and to discourage players from being completely obnoxious at the
expense of the entire mud. We hope you as a player can appreciate this
and hope that these rules assist in helping make Tsunami enjoyable and
fair.

Thank you,
	Tsunami Management

Amendment 9/9/93 - ANY act which results in another player's death is
considered a player kill. More specifically, this includes:
   - Summoning a player to an aggressive monster
   - Using things like the anti-player gun, or the catapult.
   - using pets, zombies, familiars, OR ANY controllable monster.

Addendum 9/12/93 - Player Killing. Using summons to aggressive monsters is
hereby made illegal, due to extreme abuse.

Amendment 9/26/93 - Repeat Tells. Repeat tells to players, generally
with the sole purpose of being obnoxious, are not allowed on Tsunami.
Your character may/will be removed for doing so.

Amendment 10/4/93 - Playing other people's chracters is illegal.
In other words, if you don't own the character, do NOT be playing it.
