As the spell is cast on a target, the target will become more and more petrified. As a result of this, their effectiveness in fighting will be diminished. Also, each attempt at petrification is extremely painful, and results in substantial damage. Over time, the target will become less and less petrified, slowly regaining their fighting abilities. The rate of recovery is directly related to the constitution of the partially paralyzed individual. Petrify gains a bonus equal to the Wu-jen's earth sphere level times three.
