Shamed players may be 'gag'ed or 'ungag'ged by their killers at any time during the shame. Gagging a player prevents them from communicating with 'tell' to the killer, forces the player 'grovel' when he uses 'say', a gag restricts the channel usage to only a few messages every few seconds. Gagging is entirely voluntary but allows a killer to silence a pestering whelp that he can trample underfoot. See also: help shame, help pk
