There are three ways you can die, either to a monster, to another player, or to a room effect. When you die, there are two ways that you can be brought back. The first is by getting to the temple (either by foot or using 'hearth temple' command) and praying. The second is to have a friendly player resurrect you. Experience loss is based on your jihad standing status and in case of a resurrection by a player also this player's jihad standing. Praying at the temple will cause you to take a slightly larger penalty. See also: help death
