this shouldnt slow you down as much as it would a caster type that doesnt
bounce because again, you take very little hp damage.

You are right. If you buy heals or orbs beyond what you can collect in a
play session then its fine.
A lot of classes don’t have to do that to have a decent single target
time to kill though.
Typically, I approach these things from “the class needs to be viable
with its own skills and the money it makes during an xp session.”
You can xp anything pulling a ton from your bank but that shouldn’t be
considered as necessary to have a reasonable play experience. My vision
may not align with yours (or the wizards) and that’s fine but balance is
already murky enough but when the method of overcoming play obstacles is
“just buy more heals from my shop” or “orbs from my other shop”
then you don’t have a viable class.
The cocoon change definitely brings it closer to this and I’ll admit I
just ran through book 4 a couple of times but I still tended to run out of
resources despite juggling 3 cocoons at once and have to wait for
quickheal/second round of feeding but it was a noticeable improvement.
I feel like anytime you hit the ‘classic EQ’ hurdle of sometimes
needing to stare at your hp readout for a while until you can do your next
kill something is lacking. Classic Tsunami was definitely like this with
monsters (before all the heal/consume changes) so its much better now.
Spider, because their cocoon was pre-all-those-changes, I think is still
missing *something*. But that’s just my opinion. :)
