I don't take a lot of combat damage as long as the web is in good shape. I can cocoon but a single feed is less than a corpse heal and to feed again it looks like I wait about 9/10 rounds to feed once more. I assume the total healing is greater than a single corpse but what you do is find yourself with a 'pile of cocoons' chain feeding (this is a lot of actions per round if you're not macro/stacking the commands). Cocoon healing could be a bit more on pace with healing/consuming the corpse. I really /feel/ (not that feelings are valid in a test) that the cocoon/feed mechanic is very old and the introduction of consume really makes there not seem like there's a lot of value there for the hasssle.
