Prompt markers (GA/EOR) and newbie start
    Note 213 of 248 · by Wildcat · 28-Oct-2026 3:14pm
Your prompt now ends with the telnet Go Ahead (GA) marker, or End of Record (EOR) if your client asks for it. Clients such as Mudlet use this to recognise the prompt, so Mudlet's N: latency display and isPrompt() triggers now work. Thanks to Raine for the request. Your prompt is also printed again after combat rounds, tells and other messages that arrive between your commands, so it stays the last line on your screen. If you don't want these: setenv no_goahead true stops the GA/EOR marker (only needed if your client shows stray characters after the prompt) setenv no_reprompt true stops the extra prompts after other messages Type 'setenv no_goahead' or 'setenv no_reprompt' on its own to remove the setting again. 'help prompt' has the details. Blind mode's spoken-style prompt (HP x of y, SP x of y, enemy percent) now actually appears when blindmode's prompt option is on. New players: the first character on a new account now starts straight in the new player training area instead of being asked. Later characters still get the choice, and 'newbiearea' still works for accounts younger than 12 months. Log out and back in to pick up the changes.
