help > disciplines Celerity -------- The ability to be faster than any mortal. The first rank add a skill to deal damage to all creatures in a room and the next two ranks add the unique ability to execute several abilities per round! Under celerity, each additional action taken in a round will be somewhat less effective than the previous action. Lack of Celerity means the vampire is still afflicted by Rigor Mortis and gain no auto attacks when in humanoid shape. Vampires of lvl 1 to 5 are not affected by this weakness. Fortitude --------- The ability to soak up and ignore any damage. The first rank adds Toughness, which helps against any kind of damage. The second rank adds Invulnerability which gives the vampire a chance to ignore wounds that would otherwise be lethal, and the third rank adds a skill called Armour, which greatly improve Armor Class. Lack of Fortitude means the vampire will burn in sunlight. Obfuscate --------- The ability to be seen as something else or not at all. The first rank adds the skill Disguise which allows the vampire to be seen as somebody else, they also gain Vanish which instantly removes most negative effects and causes the vampire to go into hiding. The second rank adds Stealth which allows them to move around and even bleed(!) unseen. At the third rank the Vampire receives the ability, Shadow Strike which makes it strike back if hit (limited to once per round). Obfuscate also grants a bonus to armor class called Cloak of Shadows. Each step of Obfuscate improve the effectiveness of this Cloak. Lack of Obfuscate means the vampire are afraid of light and holy damage. Potence ------- Potence does not make the vampire stronger but it gives them the natural ability to use their already great strength to a maximum. They instinctively know how to position themselves, how to lift correctly, how to throw a punch and where to aim to achieve the desired effect. The first rank adds a skill called Grapple, which allows them to grab ahold of their target so he or she does not move around. They also gain the weapon skills Axe, Flail, Mace and Staff. The second rank gives the vampire the ability to Decapitate their target. The second rank also grant the use of two-handed weapons, and the third rank allows the vampire to hit very hard with a Mighty Blow. Each rank of potence also increases their carrying ability. Lack of Potence means the vampire is exceptionally vulnerable to physical damage, especially from Blunt weapons! Presence -------- As a vampire grows older so does his confidence and ability to dominate mortal beings. The first rank allows the vampire to mesmerize and force the target to do their bidding. The second rank adds Intimidate, which makes it hard for opponents to even attack them, and the third rank allows the vampire to project their true greatness through the skill Majesty to nearby creatures. At rank 1 the vampire receives a powerful and Majestic Aura which increases effectiveness of all non-passive vampire skills by 5% per rank of Presence. Lack of Presence means they have an unnatural aura which animals easily detect. Protean ------- Vampires hold a certain connection to feral creatures. Protean allows them to make that bond stronger. The first rank allows the vampire to meld with the land and heal their wounds. You also gain the ability to shapeshift into a bat. The second rank adds the ability to shapeshift into the regenerative mist form and the third, and last, rank allows them to change into a great beast! Beast form greatly improve attacking, combat, weaponry and even some AC. However the AC bonus from equipment is lost while in Beast form as the armor melds into the body. Vampire lore always speaks of vulnerability to water.
