A new combat equation was instituted at 16:00 machine time, the effect of
armour
is now less random and somewhat less
overall, this is in an effort to more precisely define
areas of difficulty.

Now, as to *why* the changes, essentially the
skill and combat system had gotten somewhat
overinflated by new classes/skills and
attempts to rebalance the system, this
"reset" in effect takes us back to the avg calculated
damage of about 4-5 years ago. This is NOT
an effort to slow down exping and to that
effect I have also tonight increased the
overall value of NPC's on the MUD. This is
an attempt to reign in the relative sillyness
of 100pt combat rounds which is typically 20%
of a targets hps, to make PKing more of a contest
between willing participants and less of a
"ha I one-shotted you because I can", and
to make wars a little more about skill and less about raw
firepower
