Myconoid

Myconoids are humanoid fungi. Essentially giant, squishy mushrooms with arms, legs and nasty dispositions. A relatively recent arrival to the realms of Tsunami, there has been much speculation to as to their origins. Suffice it so say, a magic so foul, so dark, so vile and so putrid must have been involved, it is best not to dwell--lest you stumble upon the actual answer.

Myconoids are able to pursue all professions that humans are able to pursue. They have roughly the same characteristics as humans, save for a giant mushroom head that prevents them from wearing helmets. They are also slightly stronger, but have a slightly weaker constitution.

Being fungi, myconoids also have several unique characteristics.

Myconoids have a unique ability to completely and efficiently digest corpses through their metabolize ability. They will gain enhanced healing of HP and SP while metabolizing corpses, and there is a small chance that mushrooms will sprout from the corpse and follow the myconoid in his or her travels. For more information see 'help skills metabolize'.

There is also a chance that the periodic spore will fall from the Myconoid's mushroom head. These spores are powerful and mysterious, and are said to have ghastly effects on suitable germination material they may encounter--like corpses.

Fungi are soft, wet and squishy. As such, myconoids are slightly more vulnerable to physical attacks made with fists, swords, axes and so on. However, they are more resistant to things like fire, cold, electricity and other "non physical" damage.
