Title : Sands and Manticores
----------------------------------------
The deserts of Tsunami were protesting outside the wizard workrooms this
afternoon. They stated "enough is enough" and were on-strike until
concessions could be made about their workload. Following several hours of
discussion I am pleased to report that weve reached an agreement that will
allow the deserts of Tsunami to continue to support the mummies and
manticores.

THE BAD (the reductions)
NONE. Well, maybe none. None of this was intended as a reduction.

THE ISNT THAT SPECIAL (code nuance)
1) Sands was old-code. I reworke it to meet the new tools available. This
is hopefully invisible to players.
2) Sands had a lot of custom modifications as various people felt it
should function different ways. These resulted in one core bug. The lower
level you were the faster your sands would increase. At level 5 you could
hit very high-level of sands faster than a hero. This was fixed. I dont
consider it a reduction though. Its a correction. Im surprised no one
noted it.
3) To the player, know this: Sands has a cap based upon the
sands-skill-level of the last person to cast in the room. Most
importantly: A) Although there are terrain modifications in a neutral
setting a sands-caster will hit their cap in ONE CAST. Sands generates
over THREE ROUNDS. So even if in unfavorable terrain at a sufficently high
level TWO casts should be more than sufficient.
4) Sands decreases based upon who last cast it and whether or not theyre
in the room. If you stay in the room sands ecreases relatively slower
(over 4 or 5 minutes). If you leave the room its over 2 or less. Makes
sense, right?

MANTICORES AND MUMMIES
1) Mummies are a different post.
2) I reworked the manticore combat bonus based upon the caps. Discounting
the sands bug (which would have always given them the max boost, but sands
was optional for them) they no longer have a cap. The cap is scaled quite
a bit better. Hero manticores should still achieve the cap. HUGE hero
manticores or manticores in mummy sands (remember mummies have all kinds
of sand boosting foo) will get a larger bonus but its on the order of only
about 10 points.

Direct feedback to me. Prefer mudmail or discord.

Hope this helps cut down on the feedback I heard which was "I hate casting
sands over and over each room".
