a few race tweaks:
minos got a redux:
- can no longer wear boots. the chaos that spawned the race is still
churning in their systems, and they all have hoof-like feet now.
- slightly less damage output from the auto-zerk
- lost the skill bonuses for axe and mace. wtf, a +25 str race doesn't
need a bonus to skills that are mostly-str-based. minos already have the
best axe and mace skill levels in the game, up there with dwarves ... just
from their stats. ;)
centaurs got a small boost:
- new skill bonuses to ride and polearm.
i should point out that ther have been for many many years now a number
of races that can wield two-handed weapons in one hand. i just now
realized that the help files for these races seem to ignore that fact.
ogres are well-known for it, but other races can wield big weapons and
carry shields or use offhand weapons. those races are: minotaurs (b/c of
their size), centaurs (b/c of their size and leverage), and ghants (b/c of
their extra arms).
again, this is not a recent change, it's just a feature that's been
undoc'd for ages. the help files have been updated.
