The healing of the spell is delivered through an initial frontload heal which is then followed by a heal over time effect which lasts for 6 rounds. Should the Unicorn decide to re-cast Life before the heal over time has run its course, that healing will be lost. As Life is the converse of Death, this spell can harm the undead.
